# Source note — “Dr. K” / MAID 115 claim / Kelsie Sheren Reel

Status: Draft/source package only — not published.

## Social lead

- Instagram Reel: `Db80RCEPTqs`
- Account: `kelsie_sheren` (verified)
- Visible frame text: “Another Dr who brags about k*lling 115 people.. ‘Dr. K’”
- Caption alleges the person has “bragged about ending the lives of 115 people” and names Belleville, Kingston and Cobourg as areas of concern.
- The Reel does **not** display a full doctor name, source article, document, or proof for the 115 count.
- Visible comments propose names, including “Dr Kate Koester” and “Dr Konia Trouton.” Comments are treated as leads only.

## Identification status

The public-source trail points to **Dr. Konia Trouton** as the likely “Dr. K” target because she has extensive public MAID-provider/leadership records, including CAMAP roles, Canadian MAID Curriculum work, Globe and Mail MAID opinion writing, and MAID Death Review Committee references. The Reel itself does not prove the identity.

The “Kate Koester” lead remains weak: searches found local doctor-directory entries but no MAID-specific public source trail matching the Reel claim.

## Main verification anchors

- Canadian Family Physician, 2024: lists Dr. Konia Trouton as CAMAP President, co-lead author of two Canadian MAID Curriculum topics, and honorarium recipient for curriculum-development meetings.
- CAMAP event page, 2026: identifies Dr. Trouton as Co-founder and Past President of CAMAP and says she has worked with the MAiD Death Review Committee at the Office of the Chief Coroner in Ontario.
- CAMAP Emeritus Council, 2026: lists Konia Trouton as appointed April 2026; also lists Jonathan Reggler, Paul Schachter, Stefanie Green, Tanja Daws, Viren Naik and Willi Kirenko.
- Globe and Mail, 2021/2026: identifies Konia Trouton as a physician providing/involved in MAID practice; 2026 bio says she has included MAID practice in her work for the last decade, is co-founder/past president of CAMAP, served on the Ontario Coroner’s MAID Death Review Committee, and helped develop the Canadian MAID Curriculum.
- Health Canada: MAID is legal only under specific Criminal Code criteria/safeguards; providers can be physicians or nurse practitioners; Track 2 and mental-illness-only safeguards/limits are described.

## Publication warning

Do not publish “serial killer,” “executioner,” “murderer,” or similar criminal language unless an official legal/regulatory finding supports it. A safe PBC framing is records-wanted/accountability: what is her current public role, what training/curriculum/governance roles did she hold, what does CAMAP say, and where is the primary source for the “115” claim?
